Learn and master shooting mechanics

The greatest shooter in NBA history was not a big man who could shoot free throws. It was the human body that could adjust and maximize physical capacities for movement. The same is true for successful basketball players in other sports.

If you want to become a better shooter or increase your basketball shooting game, you have to understand how the body works beneath the layers of clothing and skin that protect it. Shooting is not simply about arm strength or quick reaction times. In order to become a better shooter you must perfect techniques for starting, accelerating, changing directions, and finishing your shots.

Practice shooting at game speed

Staying motivated while playing basketball may seem like an impossible task, but it doesn’t have to be. By practicing at game speed, you can improve your shooting skills and basketball shooting game to the point where they become instinctive rather than involuntary. If you join a basketball team or practice with your friends regularly, you will begin to improve at an accelerated rate. It sounds easy, but overcoming fear of failure and missing shots is surprisingly difficult.

Become an amazing shooter in the court!

Train on a consistent basis for muscle memory

No matter how much you play the game, no matter how many hours you spend in the gym, if you aren’t making shots it will never be possible to improve your basketball shooting game. The same thing goes for your work in the gym or your life off the court. Shooting is the best skill in any sport whether you play basketball or not.

The key to increasing your efficiency is consistency. You must train consistently for at least 30 minutes before attempting to shoot any shots, and you should try to shoot at least one three-pointer per day for at least ten consecutive days before being considered successful.

Put training work into game use

After you have invested your time and money in your game skill training, it is rewarding to use what you learned to improve your basketball shooting skills. To reach your goals you must persist with a solid training program.
